Coach Perry was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He attended high school at Tyler St. Christian Academy where he won a State Championship in his senior season. He averaged 26 Points & 11 Rebounds per game as a Senior, ranking as the 2nd best rebounder in North Texas. He was also a high flyer and was known for his dazzling dunks. Coach Perry attended college at South Florida from 1993-1995 and garnered the Most Outstanding Freshman Award after shooting 42% from the three point mark to lead the conference. He finished up his college career at LaGrange College in Georgia where he averaged 15 Points and 5 Rebounds per game.

Coach Perry translated his success at the college level into a professional opportunity. He played in the USBL with Dallas Express from 1998-2000. He pioneered a skills training program called P&D Basketball shortly after his playing career ended. The program specialized in detailed skill work for boys & girls.

He has been with Higher Goals since its inception and has close to 20 years of experience coaching youth basketball. Coach P is known for developing great relationships with his players and does a great job of being a positive influence in their lives on and off the court. Every player that he has coached holds a super special place in his heart. He does a masterful job of making players understand how basketball applies to real life. He spends a considerable amount of time supporting his players in their endeavors. Coach Perry comes from a family of coaches so it definitely is in his blood!

Outside of coaching, Coach Perry works full time in the oil, gas, and aero space industry. He’s been in that realm for 15 years. He is a loving father of three beautiful daughters (Jasmyne, Kennedy, and Kamryn) and is also a proud grandfather. You can find him spending time with his family, his beloved dog, and perfecting his infamous meals in his spare time.
